Art Deco Highboy Dresser
Reminiscent of gilded-age banks and newly-built Victorian manor homes in Philadelphia's wealthy past, this Art Deco dresser sets itself apart from the "Waterfall" style that became popular at the time of prohibition with its rounded inset top, use of burl wood on the top drawers, and outrageously figured wood grain on the main drawers. Other delectable touches in the squarish curl pattern on either end of the top, the inlay strip bisecting the burl wood drawers, and band of rectangles segmenting the top from bottom.
Exact age is uncertain, but based on construction techniques and style, we place it as being manufactured sometime around the 1930s or 1940s.
In very good condition for its age, with minimal wear and tear. There is a scratch on the right side as pictured.
